Chow Chow is a guard dog, companion, one of the oldest dog breeds. By its origin, the Chow Chow belongs to the Spitz group, but there is an assumption that there is an admixture of the blood of the Tibetan Great Dane in them.

Chow chows are not usually social, outgoing dogs.

They are very friendly!

 They tend to be aloof with strangers.

Chow chow temperament is one of the most difficult among different breeds of dogs. On the one hand, these dogs need the attention of people who are members of their family, but on the other hand, they do not need their approval.

Chow Chow is definitely a very distinctive looking breed.

They are widely adored for their fluffy appearance and sweet expressions.

Despite being a bit aloof and reserved, these canines are very loyal to their owners.

Chow Chow stands out among other breeds for its exotic appearance. The dog’s gait and build are similar to a bear with a lion’s mane. Plus complements this exotic image of a blue and black tongue.

The breed comes from China and probably descended from the equally lionlike Tibetan mastiff.

Chow Chow is probably an ancestor to more modern spitzes like Keeshonds and Pomeranians.

The breed first made its way to England in 1880.

This is a beautiful plush toy, but with a stubborn, independent “non-toy” character, a dog of one owner.

 It’s trusted that the pooches have been around for about 2000 to 3000 years.

China utilized these feathery little guys as working mutts; they were prepared to chase, watch, pull sleds, and now and then group steers.

This dog can be a psychologist.

Chow Chow is a beautiful dog with a thick, dense coat, which has all the qualities of a devoted friend. This breed originated in China and was used for hunting both pheasant and wolves. They were trained to guard boats and pull carts with loads. Today, Chow Chows still perform well their watchdog duties, but more and more often people have these dogs as regular pets.
