Game information on “Take it easy” from Ravensburger

Short description

“In this game for tinkerers, you shouldn’t let your fellow players fool you. Only those who lay continuous rows of colors from one side to the other can collect the highest number of points and triumph. “Take it easy!” is the name of the game. However, if a wrong tile nullifies a full suit row just short of the saving goal, it’s good to remember the game name. Because then it is important to easily put up with the loss of points and start a new row: new game, new strategy, new luck. The placement game is suitable for inventors from the age of 10 and is also an exciting task on its own! The aim is to achieve as many points as possible from round to round.” Source: Ravensburger

How “Take it easy” works

Get the game started

Each of the players in your turn receive the same starting conditions:

  • a game plan
  • 27 cards in one suit

Designate one of yourselves as the “Opener”. He places his cards, color side down, next to his game board and shuffles them.

The rest of you do the same, only you discard the cards suit-side up and don’t shuffle. However, it makes sense for you to sort your cards.

After that, you can start with a game of “Take it easy”!

Gameplay

Your “opener” begins the game by turning over one of his face-down cards and naming the numbers he finds on the card. He places the card on his game board while the rest of you try to find this card in your deck to keep it with you.

Then the opener lays out another card and you look for suitable cards as round after round continues.

You have to make sure that you place the cards in such a way that everyone arranges the numbers correctly – after that you can’t change the position. As the game progresses, the game boards become tight, which is why you always have to think carefully about where you place your cards and which rows you destroy.

The game is decided after 19 rounds at the latest – then you settle accounts and start a new round with a new opener.

Everything comes to an end

In each round you score continuous color rows. Should there be an interruption, there are 6 points. You play four rounds in total.

After the fourth round, you add up your points – whoever has the most wins.

Our conclusion on “Take it easy” from Ravensburger

“Take it easy” is not a game for you if you leave something to chance and just have friends in the game. In order to win, you need a good portion of tactical skill in order to be able to rake in the most points in the end. Those of you who are interested in real brain teasers will get gaming satisfaction from this. It is particularly well suited for larger groups, making it perfect for a game night.

All in all, this tactical game is incredibly fun if you enjoy tactical games. The highlight is that you can also play it alone, so you don’t need a large group to pass the time. We think that’s great!
